Heaven on Earth Heaven on Earth exists in the actions that follow a realization & deep appreciation of our connection with and responsibility for all life. Here are healthy solutions and nature-guided choices. Solutions: End Toxic agriculture farming systems & wasteful Transportation of food: Grow your own, support farmer's markets, join a coop buy organic produce, learn about permaculture and design your own food forest. Create food, not lawn. End
the use of Toxic household cleaners: Find healthy alternatives at
the healthfood store, or in a bookstore, "Non-toxic Home & Office" By
Debra Lynn Dadd, or in your library. End our dependency on Fossil Fuel cars: RMI already has a road map for ending our need for fossil fuel. Until we see this plan implemented, we can support biodiesel use if we have diesel vehicles, and walk or ride bikes more if we don't. Retrofit Grid neighborhoods: We can retrofit our grid cities to enhance the beauty & community feel and support more positive interactions between people. Choose to end our use of non-renewable Energy sources: We know all about more efficient methods in solar, wind and hydro-power. We have the capacity to meet our global energy needs with solar energy. Stop building Toxic boxes: Earth Art & Architecture is just one way of building that makes fire, earthquakes, termites, and rot problems of the past. There are other sustainable building methods like strawbale, earth block, yurts, etc. and more being developed that can support life systems and last longer. KLARITY associates, Living Systems can provide home & office designs, construction and maintenance, that supports your needs for efficient, beautiful, health-supportive spaces. (click here) Stop Wasting resources and calling it Waste: There is no such thing as waste in nature. Every kind of waste in nature is resources or nutrients for some other life form. Cycles of nature create a model we can learn from to design our homes and towns and cities to provide for our needs while caring for the earth as well. Transition away from the wastefulness of Flushing water down toilets: Living Machines at Findhorn in Scotland process the "black water" (sewage) from 300 people. The Living Machine is a huge greenhouse full of tubs of flowers. It is a sweet-smelling place where the process of breaking down the sewage allows nature to take its course. The end product is clear water that falls into a fish pond full of healthy fish. Compost toilets allow worms to create soil from human waste. These may not be solutions for every situation, but they are proof of great, existing practices and somewhere to begin. This is a brief overview. It is all connected. |
